‘Star Trek’ icon lives on with New Nichelle Nichols Space Camp to inspire young women to strive for the stars

“Star Trek” Royalty Nichelle Nichols died in 2022, but her legacy continues to exist.

The most famous for her hair memorable portrait of communication officer Lt. Nyota Uhura in “Star Trek: The Original Series” and six last Frontier play films, Nichelle Nichols has now inspired a new educational part that has been fed to explode next year via the Nichelle Nichols Foundation.

The Nichelle Nichols Space Camp is launched from 17-19 January 2026 in the US Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama, with the upcoming class students ready to take that brave step in the big step in preparation for a career as a future astronaut. From 1982 this world -famous program has inflamed the imagination and dreams of children by duplicating rigorous astronaut training regime by appreciating leadership and teamwork.

Potential Star voyagers who announce from all 50 states, areas and 150 countries will come together to reflect the optimistic ideals of “Star Trek’s” United Federation of Planets. These adventurous students will participate in a wide range of teambuilding lessons and activities, including simulated Interplanetair Living on Mars, Modelrocketry, Cubesat Construction, Vulcan philosophy, 3D prints, spaces tests, artificial gravestary experiences and a dizzy-ranger experiences.

Enriched by the fascinating programs of Space Camp in the Disciplines of Space, Aviation and Robotics, the experience is offered for girls from 14 to 18 years old to stimulate the interests of budding space pioneers, spacecraft engineers and planetary scientists. This special weekend feeds the next generation of ambitious pioneers who are attracted to career in steam (science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics).
